New Glarus Apple Ale:
I thought this would have a nice touch of apples to it, but WHOA. It’s basically a glass of sparkling apple juice. There’s supposedly some wheat beer in there, but all I taste are tart and sweet apples. More apple-y than any apple cider I’ve ever tried, even. It’s delicious, but it just doesn’t remind me of beer… at all. What an odd animal.

I always thought its soft malt character and slightly fuller body compared to a typical hard cider is what set it apart. I think of it as a nice alternative to boring ciders like strongbow.
