Hooray Wisconsin!
So one of my ‘finds’ this weekend was the delicious (where have you been?) Moon Man “no coast ale” by New Glarus. An American Pale Ale, to which I must admit pale ales and I have never been the tightest, but this one sold me. I may even declare this my favorite pale ale, at least in recent memory.
I took one sip of this beer and was floored at how impressed I was. I mean, yes, I love a good New Glarus beer any time. But when you spend your college years in Madison, WI located just 20 minutes from this brewery…well lets just say I’ve had my share of Spotted Cow. We were spoiled. All of us in Wisconsin are. It is great but I can’t appreciate a beer as much when I consider it something I drank a high volume of when I was
20…21.But back to Moon Man. All I can say is, well it paired beautifully with my dinner (a tilapia po’boy) and I’ve been in desparate need to go grab some for home. While looking more into it, the beer became an annual New Glarus brew about a year ago; so i have no idea where I’ve been.
If you are in Wisconsin, grab some. If you aren’t hopefully you can find a place that carries New Glarus, which should be increasing in its availability if you are lucky.
You Wisconsinites have it so good… New Glarus isn’t available at all in Minnesota, so all of us beer nerds have to trek over to Sconnie for our fix. At this point, though, hauling over the border seems like a mark of a Minnesotan’s true devotion to good beer.
